The TOA team is collaborating with the SM-CRSP Carbon Project (University of Florida), the Sahel Agricultural Research Institute (Wa, Ghana) and University of Accra, to assess the technical and economic potential for soil carbon sequestration in study sites in northern and southern Ghana. Field data were collected by SARI in 2004 in villages in northern Ghana. These data are being used to construct a minimum-data analysis in conjunction with the University of Florida’s measurement and modeling of soil carbon rates. Data are being assembled by University of Accra collaborators to implement a similar minimum-data analysis for University of Florida study sites in southern Ghana.
